Isn't it also just too cold right now?

Do you really believe that this move would affect JR's pro-Trump jurisprudence in any way?

Reducing Twitter to a non-viable entity for mass persuasion would greatly help combat the right's dangerousness. And if enough cultural and political creators of the left leave or reduce their presence there, its overall power as a platform would be greatly diminished.

Possibly to show the power of further leaks from Maxwell and co unless she is granted clemency?

SC needs to be reformed first, no? Roberts court has hollowed out corruption laws. (But as you say, this is good terrain to pick that battle.)

Lots of good ideas here but the India and China erasure is crazy

Glad you are back here to say this and engage: many on here agree, despite what you see in your replies.

Agree with your point that the badness comes through for engaged folks. But I think we're amped up about what gets through to *not as engaged* folks. Compare NYT's coverage of HRC's emails to almost any Trump scandal.

3.) because 2a-b, it would be better to have a different plan. In its absence, dem leaders must shut down anyway. Removal of leaders who fail to fight in any way is warranted.
September 8, 2025 at 2:36 PM
1. Trump has crossed the Rubicon. Dem leaders must act. Schumer's argument for not shutting down no longer apply.
2. Dems should use leverage they have and shut down. But a.) dems need fighters w/ talent to win political fight AND b.) shutdowns are inherent bad.

Wonderful piece. Keep it up.

How is this "a lot"? Don't they still have 800 pounds of 60% enriched uranium and know-how? Plus below from NYT:

Obviously you are correct but some of it is very funny in how stupid it is. Like every single sentence in this fails to back up the claim of "no statistical sense" and yet the writer projects total certainty. Can we share it for comic value?

Did KH shift any of her policy positions from 2020 primary to 2024 general in response to public opinion/electoral results? Seems like she changed *a lot*

Do you have any suggestions for how to bring those immigration-specific numbers down?

They are also allergic to turn signals. Sad!

It is NOT his "deportation plan." It is his plan to send innocent people to a foreign torture gulag run by a dictator. (I know the article makes this plain, but we have to be better about messaging this.)

This is the most important necessary condition for the political success of Trumpism. Even the "best and the brightest" Trumpists (Elon, Ackman, O'Leary, etc) know nothing about govt, history, law, etc. When one knows context, his repugnance becomes clear

@mcuban.bsky.social Do you think if Biden had pursued an aggressive regulation strategy that crypto-loving men would have been okay with that? Or the companies who gave millions to defeat crypto hawks?

You can always say an admin should pursue bad policy for short term political gain.

You could try George Saunders, Karen Russell, or Kazuo Ishiguro!

Rushdie and Bulgakov also worth checking out but closer to GGM

Do you like Murakami more? I think Gabo is more associated with a playful vibrant magical realism whereas Murakami is more focused on introducing the surreal into everyday life
