Skincare obsessed nerd, who fell into the rabbit hole of evidence-based skincare several years ago, and is now on a mission to help people achieve their skin goals!
I’ve not personally tried them, so I can’t attest to what they’re like, but I think the ordinary, the inkey list and minimalist all do basic arbutin serums with no niacinamide. Might be worth a go if want to trial the ingredient on its own

You might know / be doing this already, so sorry if I’m repeating things you already know

If you’re struggling with hyperpigmentation, it’s worth using multiple ingredients to target different parts of the pigmentation pathway. Eg. Alpha arbutin, kojic acid, rice soy, aha’s, retinoids etc.

I like the Geek & Gorgeous C-Glow, the Benton vitamin C serum and the Paula’s choice super antioxidant serum

I love these comparisons 😂

I don’t know where this myth came from but it’s so dangerous. All skin needs sun protection!

Yeah 💕 Staying hydrated is essential for health, as is good diet. But people are so often told by family members etc. to drink excessive water and wash their face an unnecessary amount. Which either won’t help or will make things worse. When really people need empathy and proper acne treatment

Totally! It exacerbates self-blame too. People feel like their acne is cause they’re doing something wrong. Which is really not helped by others saying “you should wash your face more” or “just drink more water” 😤 When really it requires proper treatment like any other inflammatory condition

Ouch, yeah best to avoid that! Low potassium is bad enough (I get it from some of my medication). Thankfully I can manage it with a supplement not a drip!
