I used to shake so badly they'd have to get a second person to hold me down. Then I got pregnant and had to do blood draws and shots much more often. Now it doesn't bother me at all (I don't enjoy it but it's not a big deal). I'm glad for that experience! Getting over it felt great!

Sorry, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is what they call all those movies and shows. It hit a cultural saturation point where people got tired of hearing about them all the time even though they still make money and have lots of fans.

The Eras Tour broke containment. Every news org, podcast, content creator, small business, etc jumped on the bandwagon to analyze her and her music. Same thing when the MCU hit its peak. People get tired of it and there's a backlash. She'll always be fine, it's just part of the arc.

She's on a really similar trajectory right now to the rise and fall of the MCU. She's still extremely popular and making tons of money but her position in popular culture is shifting, which almost always happens when something reaches the status of "everywhere" these days.

Even when you're really focused on making sure you treat them like people, there's always something else around the corner to rethink or unlearn. I hate that the way we treat kids in this society (badly) is so foundational.

I don't have a sense of smell (ever, since I was a small child) and I was so terrified of smelling bad for so long. Maybe it's always like this but it feels like we're especially in an age of privileged people taking everything for granted and telling everyone about it like it's genius.

When my oldest started daycare it would make me so emotional to receive notes about him from his teachers. People out in the world see and care for him too! It's beautiful.

I think it's related to the impulse behind mansplaining, at least sometimes. They know 1-2 things about an issue and want to jump in to explain it, oblivious to the fact that the person has more experience and awareness of the issue than they do.

I'm allergic to soy and can't eat soybean oil and I hate having to ask about it in restaurants because of the anti seed oil quacks. It's only bad for me because I have a specific condition! Those fools are lucky they don't!

I've noticed a lot of people project their issues with incompetent grown men onto literal children just because they are boys and I think its weird! We try to teach our kids a lot of life skills but they're still children right now and that's actually fine.

I intentionally try to steer my FYP away from any kind of health, wellness, weight loss, etc content on there and any time I do get it, it's always GLP-1 content specifically. I get the ads a lot on Reddit too.

Obviously things are not great in the world and that carries into online, but it feels like there's much less good stuff online and when there is it's so hard to find. That's what's making this time harder for me I think. At least I used to be able to see people's little jokes and food photos.

The thing that gets me is that the brand itself, as a cultural concept, had to be one of their main points of differentiation in the market. And they destroyed it! It will probably never mean to people what it meant before and their only shot is a complete overall now.

I've been wondering how much it's also novelty for some people. Writing emails is boring, here's a slightly different but new way to do it. But that way will eventually get boring and unappealing too but by then you haven't done it the other way in a long time and whoops.

My parents told me they were getting divorced literally 25 years ago. The woman my dad left us for did eventually leave him after reconnecting with an ex on Facebook though, so who can say!
