This was a Tim Floyd coached, Toni Kukoc led Bulls team that managed only 13 wins and finished last in the East. They did get the ping pong ball to come up right in the draft lottery though and selected Duke's Elton Brand with the number one overall pick in the '99 NBA Draft.

The Dallas Stars became the first team in NHL history to give up a three goal lead in the final minute of the game to lose. Leading 5-2 with 60 seconds to play, Aatu Raty scored. Pius Suter scored a pair in the final 30 seconds to force overtime and then Kiefer Sherwood scored the game winner in OT.
