It's incredible. Went over in the Autumn of 2024. Stood outside Edgeware Rd tube and thought there's something different. It suddenly hit me - I can't smell fumes. Something to be happy about in these dark days. Hope NYC follows quickly.

I actually agree with you. When I relocated here I was shocked at the lack of public facilities available. in most places I would have to go into a store or cafe. The US is leaps and bounds behind in provising these amenities. Poverty isn't something to be punished.

Public restrooms are actually a resouce that the unhoused and those with limited access to hot water etc. can use. Also no cost sanitary items would be welcome

For travellers and locals it is so important to be able to access public restrooms. Australiasia & Europe are leaps & bounds ahead of the US in providing these amenities. Thank you for providing this to NYers and visitors.

They own their home outright, they get financial support from their parents. I’m afraid they could sell the house and remortgage. It seems that they can not afford private education.

Not a new thing my childrena are now i their early 30s. I told them it was ok not to have hugs from anyone. I can remember as a child the terror of hugs from people I didnt like, I would hate that feeling for anybody.

Perhaps food banks and pantries today and until SNAP is paid to all recipients. The election results including local are devastating for the Rs and perhaps any spare $ should be directed to citizens in dire need of help.

Less so here than the other forums though. Bluesky tends to self select less hateful commenters. However social media is not the nicest environments as people seem to say awful things that they probably wouldn’t say in person.

Actually I disagree I think this forum is more nuanced & kind than others. In my opinion even though someone may be hateful it doesn't negate that they may have been hurt/abused in the past.
