I didn’t think it was possible for me to respect you more, but then you came out as a Speed Racer fan.

Yeah, it’s drawing heavily on the imagery of “Warhammer 40,000,” a wargame that is intended to satirize fascism. (Of course, plenty of folks miss or ignore the satire, so the overall point stands.)

Crazy idea here: the way to get it back on the air is to put it back on the air.

This is the Walt Fucking Disney Company. I’m pretty sure they’re capable of making TV shows.

And he wasn’t even a disembodied hand in Addams’ cartoons. He was a creature that peeked in from the margins.

So, is this reality, Superboy didn’t put out the fire in young Lex’s lab.

Our local Nexstar TV affiliate (Champaign, IL) just broadcast this chyron during its 6 pm newscast. “Imprisoned Epstein ex-girlfriend” is certainly burying the lede. “Convicted sex trafficker” is fewer characters and more accurate.

@wcia3news.bsky.social Really? “Imprisoned Epstein ex-girlfriend?” Way to bury the lede. “Convicted sex-trafficker” is fewer characters and far, far more accurate.

I had been thinking that the gremlin on “The Simpsons” was based on the one from the TZ movie, but I don’t suppose it’s that close.

Oh! Internet Archive has a compilation of Serling’s three volumes of short stories based on his TZ scripts. Here’s the relevant page:

This is the Mrs. Voorhees I saw at Target last week. The alternate expressions are kinda hilarious.

I don’t think this rifle will shoot straight, and regardless, it’s not a good idea to hold someone else’s gun by the barrel.

@ryannorth.ca Was this just a misdirect? I thought we were going to find out that an evil entity (slightly more evil, at least) was masquerading as Pulaski in issue 8, but if there was anything there, I missed it.

(Though, apparently, Beverly Crusher is still tied up in a trunk.)

Describe your favorite movie in the most misleading way possible.

An aspiring actress gets her big break on Broadway, rises to new heights.

I’ve never seen the movie, but the Twonky itself is commemorated in the board game “Robo Rally.” One of the robots racing across a dangerous factory floor is a little TV-shaped droid named Twonky. I always insist on playing him.

I originally went with the obvious answer—Mary Ann—but I think Becky Thatcher from the weird Hanna-Barbera live-action/cartoon hybrid “The New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” is a choice that says more about me.
