My dad's gamertag was DickManiac so I wanted to go for something similar. ThiccManiac was my first choice but over time, I began to stop liking the "Thicc" part. About a year ago, I changed it to "ThickManiac". Liked it for a while then changed it to "ThickManiak"

Gone by Mega for years, originated from my love of MegaMan originally.
Needed a unique username, can't just use Mega sadly, that gets taken quickly. Love the term Deus Ex Machina, so took the Machina for that, for my love of robots, and love of alliteration.

When I started my gaming blog in 2018, I brainstormed a bunch of names and settled on "The Brink of Gaming"- a play on words that also used part of my real name. Shortened it to "brinkofgaming" on socials and the rest is history 😜
