I’ve been following you for years now and I just love your artwork and seeing how much it weighed on you genuinely broke my heart! So seeing your update and then getting the pins?? I just had to tell you how awesome sauce you were through all of it and how grateful I am for all your hard work 😭💕

had I not had Tricare the options were: potential ICU/Death OR thousands in hospital bills for almost dying ✨ zero in between and that’s fucking INSANE. I was lucky. It kills me that others aren’t and die everyday from silly shit and you expect me to mourn CEO responsible for that? lol hell no.

Literally I am lucky as hell that I’m okay now, but to receive a letter in the mail being like heyyy so like it was technically medically necessary so this is denied is INSANE. Being that close to KDA is wild, the doctors were already confused as to how i was functioning normally —

United basically said, hey because you technically weren’t on deaths door we won’t cover this. which is INSANE. so yeah, i got lucky, but genuinely, fuck you United, I’m more than sure there’s millions of gallons of blood on your hands 🖕🏼

A few weeks go by, and I get a letter in the mail telling me that BECAUSE I WASN’T ACTUALLY IN KDA THE ER VISIT WAS NOT MEDICALLY NECESSARY AND UNITED WOULD NOT COVER ANY OF IT. FYI - being in KDA can send you to the ICU if not actually kill you. Had I not had Tricare, I’d have been fucked.🧵

Through some miracle, and the fact that a bunch of the staff were also going, I was able to get discharged and still go see RHCP. New meds, not in the ICU, feeling great for the first time in forever. All is seemingly well. 🧵

Fun Fact: When you have two insurances, Tricare automatically becomes your secondary, United was my primary thanks to my job. I’m at a Naval Hospital so it’d get ran through tricare anyways but here’s the deal. I get admitted, stayed overnight It was not fun. 🧵

So I go, only to find out that my stupid ass has been walking around with ZERO symptoms that I’m on the very near brink of Ketoacidosis - they want to admit me and I’m like ugh fine (I didn’t want to cause I was supposed to see RHCP the next day). 🧵
