I really love this card, I ran it in a Loot key to everything deck. i think you already have Party Thrasher in mind but I had this card which was an all star in the deck.

And so does deck building and understanding the game. I have seen precons go well over because no one paid attention or a 1$ rare outshine and out preform any game changer. Like you said for your deck could use a cradle, but it would only improve by a little. I found the same with smothering tithe.

I find competitiveness and dollar amount are usually never the same. I remember playing modern night at lgs with a low budget Boros burn deck and it won nearly every match. Only game I lost was because a misplay. Same I find with commander, at some point money doesn’t matter, it’s the pilot.
