Finally took time to go over Dario's essay on DeepSeek and export control and wrote some notes. I mostly disagree and I think it missed the point.

I just replaced the swollen battery of my phone for a quarter of the price of a constructor repair. And I only broke the back glass in the process (screwing just a little bit more just in case was a bad idea). I consider that an achievement.
