Last year I read We are Satellites by Sarah Pinsker for #readsofawe , and this year I read Sooner or Later Everything Falls Into the Sea. I own Song for a New Day, too--hopefully it doesn't take me ANOTHER year to pick it up, because Sarah Pinsker doesn't miss.

#readsofawe photo challenge: first fruits

I've eaten tons of lychee flavored foods before, but never the fruit itself. It's so sweet! And what better to pair it with than The Lost Ryū by Emi Watanabe Cohen, an equally sweet middle grade book about cross-cultural connections, and also dragons!

#readsofawe photo challenge: Fall Vibes

The Thick and the Lean is the newest release by one of my favorite authors! In a world where sexuality is normalized but eating for pleasure is taboo, one girl finds herself deeply hungry. Which is relatable, tbh.

#readsofawe photo challenge: blue and gold!

I read Sorrowland by Rivers Solomon earlier in the week and it absolutely kicked my ass! What an incredible book.

#readsofawe photo challenge: Apples and Honey

The Hotel Neversink is a Catskills Gothic about several generations of a Jewish family and their relationship to the hotel they run, their secrets, and one another.

I've been saving this one for #readsofawe ! It's an anthology of Jewish alternate history stories, featuring some really big authors. I'm so excited to read it!

#readsofawe Photo challenge: Your TBR

Happy Erev Rosh, y'all! This is an ambitious reading plan, but I think I can get it done. I'm so excited about all these books!

Not pictured: The Terraformers by Annalee Newitz, which I'll be audiobooking

Do people still do #throwbackthursday ? #readsofawe 2022 was so fun, even thrown together at the last minute. This year is going to be even better!
September 14, 2023 at 6:36 PM
Last year, by happy coincidence, I read The Seep by Chana Porter just before Rosh Hashanah. This year, I did it again on purpose.
