Totally get you and I have a better answer! Imo the BG3 devs preferred older editions of D&D, so The Grand History of the Realms will cover all lore before 4th edition! It's crazy hard to find irl, but it's comprehensive. More reasonable would be the Forgotten Realms Play Guide!
