A yarn and fiber shop in beautiful downtown Arlington, WA. We aim to provide high quality yarn, fiber, tools, patterns, gifts, and education while fostering a welcoming maker community.
Hey all!
I’ve not been the best at keeping up on BlueSky. I’ll try to do better.
We are currently holding a hat drive for our local schools. We’ve collected 58 hats so far! Collection deadline is November 21st.

Did you know that one of the reasons that the Puget Sound LYS Tour started was to encourage folks to support small, local businesses?

We're in our 19th year and we still believe in making an impact with how you spend and where you shop.

A customer of mine finished her Artus shawl. This is Ginger’s first mosaic knitting project! She used Brown Sheep PrairieSpun DK. The colors are beautiful and the squish factor is high! 🧶 #knitsky #knit #lys

Hey #blueskyknits! I’ve been pretty busy with a lot of WIPs for the shop and the upcoming @lystour.com. It’s been a minute since I tried something new. I am not a one WIP person. I need variety. This Eddy Cowl is giving the variety I need right now! What have you been working on? 🧶

Good morning! I’m just putting some pieces together and enjoying the bright blue sky out my window. A blue sky is a special treat during the winter in the PNW.

It’s another snowy day in Arlington! According to the weather, it’s going to get warm and melty, then freeze again.

For safety, I have canceled Stitch and Spin tonight.

The shop will be open from 1-5pm. Feel free to hang out and stitch at our table during shop hours today!

What can you do with Major? Universal Yarn offers a lot of great free patterns to give you ideas of what to do!

I’m currently working on a Lilypad Afghan using colorway Greenhouse—so far. More colors will come.

What would you do with a skein (or more!) of Major? 🧶

Restock of Tynn Silk Mohair and Sunday from @sandnesgarn . We replenished a few favorite colors plus brought in some new ones! I think Matcha is my fave.

We reordered sold out colors in Peer Gynt as well. Plus! We restocked the pom poms!

What are you working on today? 🧶
I’m working on Comfort Sock by Ozetta using Sandnes Garn Tynn Silk Mohair and Peer Gynt held together. My bright pink Lykke DPNs are the splash of color I need on this very grey day. Maybe should have picked a different yarn color…I’ll go bright on the next pair.

Local wool restock from Dennistoun Farm. Heidi raises Border Leicester sheep. These little fiber bags are great for felting or, with some prep, spinning. There are natural and dyed options. Find her fiber with other locally dyed wools in the fiber corner. 🧶 #felting #spinning

Hi! My name is Sarah. I own The Yarn Outfitter in Arlington, WA. I love to crochet, knit, spin, and help others learn these rewarding skills. I have a coffee habit that l have no desire to kick and love the challenge of repairing knitting mistakes in any way but the tedious method of "tinking". 🧶
