I was lucky enough to hear the kind, funny, brilliant poet Valerie Bloom performing her work (including conducting the market cries of the audience and giving a crash course in Jamaican Patois) at @crclc_cambridge / @homertoncollege a few weeks ago. Swipe for the poem I loved most.

Happy #worldbookday📚 ! Here am I dressed up as an “eighteenth-century-traveller at a lecture” to launch the brilliant MG adventure “Letty and the Mystery of the Golden Thread” by Penny Boxall. I was asking about ancient objects, amusing narrators, and how we write history… Very highly recommended!

I saw Mercury for the first time last night! Go directly down from beautiful, bright Venus and spot the glimmer just above and left of King’s College Chapel… ✨ #planets #cambridge

A beautiful, devastating book that made me cry with its stunning depictions of climate grief, positively offset by the agency it gives nonhuman characters. The chapter from the sea hawk’s PoV is surprising and perfect... 🏔️🦅🌲 #ecocriticism #kidsfantasy #greenbooks

This open access book is full of encouraging examples about how all storytelling (TV, fiction, comedy…) is educating people about environmental changes and evidence of the best formats to encourage action. Recommended for all writers! #ecocriticism 📝 🌏 Thanks, @emilycoren.bsky.social & team 🌸 🌳

Really enjoyed this! Especially how it explores time through geology and unites storytelling with astronomy in the symbol of spinning. Would some animals and plants suffer less than humans if they were responsible for turning time? #sapphicbooks #ecocriticism #greenbooks 🌎 ☀️👵🏻🏔️🕊️
