Trilliums are in full bloom!

Working on some buckthorn buttons - a little pop of colour ~

Sap boil today - going a bit late, delayed start due to rain. Der made a little metal tent to keep the rain out but let the sap evaporate. Been burning all day - There’s a PiLE of coals! This will be the last of it, we pulled the taps and buckets today. A short, but productive sap season!

First day success. Went out this afternoon to check and they were full! Loch transferred them to the larger pails and we have 2 *almost full 5 gallon pails of sap. That’ll get us about 2 - 500 ml mason jars of maple syrup when we boil it down later : )
