This is my second head, and it took me seven years to finish (started 2018 and finished mostly this year). While some of her age shows with questionable early decisions, taking so long meant I’d done a lot more research when I finished her. The hair was the most stressful part but works so well!!

I treated myself to a copy of Pokemon Red from CEX today (actually decently priced at £35 unboxed) and been enjoying starting another journey while also playing Chants of Sennaar with my partner.

Went on a spontaneous trip to Manchester for Mancfurs this weekend and had a blast! Loved seeing some peeps I hadn’t seen in months, and even got to have a dance battle with my incredible CFZ roomie and friend @felinefineart.bsky.social

It’s been an incredible weekend, honoured to have been at the first Core Festival. The vibes were immaculate, the atmosphere stunning. I have been healed. Thank you everyone who spoke to me, I can’t wait to be back next year and return to my Core 💜🤍🧡

Progress is continuing, though the deadline of Core Element gets nervously closer and closer 😅 I latch hooked the entire hank of hair I had, alas I’ve had to order more - hopefully one more will do the trick 🤞

But I mean it’ll be worth. Even this so far speaks for itself 🥳💇‍♀️

Been working on @pseudocanid.bsky.social’s hoof hand pattern this past week - it’s been the only cloven hoof hand pattern I’ve found that I like (the “triangle” style is not to my tastes, as they often aren’t an accurate shape), and I’m so happy with the results!! Highly recommend (con.)

Oh I am jelly!! I’m a big fan of Darren Shan too, I read and brought the Demonata book’s religiously when they came out - my holy grail I’d love to get signed is my hardback error print Dark Calling (I brought it specifically because of the error page, fresh from Tescos years ago!)

Welp. Con crud was a bit delayed but it finally hit me over the weekend. So while I’ve not been able to do as much physical sorting as I’d like, I decided to try Milanote out and do some creative sorting. And honestly? It’s not gone too bad if I say so myself!

Head Hair includes links to YT tutorials, an image of a fursuit head with similar style/length hair and a link to a shop that sells the hair. Hooves include Esty links to desired patterns and an image of a three-hooves style handpaw to edit the chosen handpaw pattern into. Horns include images of foam carved horns and a YouTube tutorial on magnetic horns. Linked between the Hooves and Horns section are two links to a minky fabric provider, one with a Canary Yellow coloured fabric and the other with a darker, slightly orange-y tinted fabric.

I feel like I’ve not made any progress today…

Which is categorically wrong! I did the WHOLE front half of the head base lining done!! The eyes took some fiddling, but I got the whole thing all sown up and ready for gluing at some point 😤

(I also nearly finish my CFZ dance mix too 👀)

Some of the sliver sharpie used to mark the pattern has bled through, unfortunately. A foam casted canine head base made by biglionsden on Etsy. There are no fursuit eyes installed, but black Lycra fabric pokes through the holes and under the chin, testing the head base lining shown in the previous photo.

I think trying to squeeze two tuff per colour is making them too small, so the shapes get lost in the length of the fur pile. But I need the length long enough to get the fluffy cheeks I love drawing on Neb so much.

It’ll be a balance but I’m sure I’ll strike it 🙂

Working on the cheek fluff, and while this wasn’t terrible, there is defo some adjustments to be made for the final version! ✂️

But there’s positives! The facial structure/silhouette this gives is PERFECT! 🤩
Cut out fur for the cheek fluff. The tuffs are in blonde and the cheek centres are white. The photo shows the back of the fur, with labelled fur directions and sides The sewed cheek fluff, with the fur brushed and shaped to follow the tuffs. All the fur has the same pile length, leading the white to bleed into the blonde sections a bit. The cheek fluff roughly pinned to a foam casted canine head base, made by biglionsden on Etsy. The fluff is not as nicely shaped or brushed due to the process of pinning and the insecurity of pins holding it. The shape of the tuffs have been completely lost but the size and overall shape does look in proportion. The humans eyes and glasses peek out from the holes that the fursuit eyes usually sit in, which have been removed. The cheek fluff roughly pinned to a foam casted canine head base, made by biglionsden on Etsy. The fluff is not as nicely shaped or brushed due to the process of pinning and the insecurity of pins holding it. The shape of the tuffs have been completely lost but the size and overall shape does look in proportion. The humans eyes and glasses peek out from the holes that the fursuit eyes usually sit in, which have been removed.

God I hated working with the contact adhesive 😅 But we got there and we now have magnets installed in the ears! 👀

Now to leave them for at least 24 hours and hope they bond properly 🤞
