This is happening in the US. If exactly the same were happening in a Latin American country, the US press would call it by its name: an internal coup d’état to convert a democracy into a dictatorship.
i will say that we have never experienced anything like an administration trying to essentially freeze the activities of the entire federal government while making a series of illegal power grabs. genuinely unclear to me what kind of response, if any, these guys are generating against them

Ok sure, eggs are more expensive and inflation isn’t lowering, but at least they cut the funding for childhood cancer research, stopped monitoring Bird flu, shutdown Medicaid, stripped hungry kids of their school lunches and took hot meals away from seniors
