We are now awaiting delivery of my deposit refund check, for which the property manager has no idea what amount it’s for. Considering it’s been FOUR. MONTHS. since I moved out, if it’s anything less than full deposit, I will still be filing in small claims court. 🧍‍♀️

She says my check can be picked up at the office. I ask why it isn’t being mailed as I was told it was. She asks for my new address (they have it, multiple times). She remembers this and says never mind they have it, yes she will send the check. I ask for the amount. She says she doesn’t know (???).

Today, I finally sit down to formerly file in small claims. The site is down for maintenance. I call my old apartment one last time, just to check. They actually answer. It’s the property manager that has been ignoring all 15+ e-mails and calls in this saga for literal months.

I sent the demand letter first week of October. I didn’t get anything back. Then last week (a! month!! later!!!) someone I don’t know leaves a voicemail saying to call them back about my deposit. I call them back 10 minutes later, I get their voicemail. I don’t hear anything back.

They still haven’t replied to my recent e-mail again reiterating that my keys were returned July 15. But you know what they did just send me? A BALANCE DUE NOTICE AND THREATENING TO EVICT ME. Evict me from what??? An empty apartment??? Please be so serious oh my god.
