🧵Something to think about:

Yesterday, Hasan Piker, who is a left-wing political commentator and probably one of the most demonized people by the right, watched the video of Charlie Kirk’s assassination live on stream and was visibly horrified.

With all the conversation about South Park I’ve seen today, all I want to add is, if you thought Trey Parker and Matt Stone were right wing, then you’ve clearly never watched an episode of their show. If I had to describe them as anything, I’d say they’re chaotic neutral.

It is a little bit crazy to me that Revenge of the Sith is having its 20th anniversary this year. That was the first Star Wars movie I ever went to in theaters. My aunt took me to see it when I was 10. I think that’s still my favorite movie theater experience ever

Just a forewarning, if you’ve never played Chrono Trigger before, it’s a practically perfect game as is. For that reason, if Square is in fact remaking it, there’s a strong chance that it ends up being the remake that I am the most nitpicky and critical towards.

I have been saying this ever since the election, even though I did vote for Kamala. Yes, Trump made gains with almost every demographic, but not enough to outweigh his 2020 loss. Trump’s 2024 victory had more to do with the Democratic voter base not voting than anything else

Part of the reason I’m not joining the pity party about Nintendo raising the price of its games is because I’ve seen way too many people posts pictures of their limited steelbook editions of games that cost well over $100.

As a lifelong Packers fan who grew up in Vikings territory, and stubbornly supported the Packers despite being relentlessly picked on by Vikings fans as a kid, seeing Elon Musk wear a cheesehead was the first time in my life I seriously reconsidered whether I wanted to continue being a Packers fan
It’s not complex. People can see with their eyes. He’s repellent to voters due to a toxic combination of exhausting amounts of cringe (see cheese head hat), desperate thirstiness (that fatal “hey, look at me mommy” vibe) and irritating arrogance (he’s not even from this school)

Finally beat Bloodborne for the first time this weekend. Excellent game, but I’m not sure I enjoyed the ending I got

If you need context, Elon Musk is basically going on a hissy fit about Hasan Piker. He’s accusing Hasan of being paid by Ubisoft to play Assassin’s Creed on stream. Hasan responded by challenging him to a fight in Eldin Ring
Assassin’s Creed Twitter account just torched Elon Musk on his own platform

Cancelled my subscription to Crunchyroll yesterday. I really don’t see the point anymore considering how much anime all the other streaming platforms have now

Formula One lost of its great icons today, Eddie Jordan. Eddie gave a lot of great drivers their first opportunity in F1, including Michael Schumacher. His team was the scrappy underdogs who made some of the coolest looking cars to ever race in F1

Saying that you don’t support student loan forgiveness because you had to pay off your loans is like saying that you don’t support a cure for cancer because you had to go through chemo

You’re basically saying that you’re bitter that someone else may have an easier solution to a problem that you had

Final Fantasy XII is a really unique game for me because, while I’ll be the first to admit that its gameplay style isn’t my cup of tea, there are a lot of things I like about it, and I do think it is a very good game overall. It isn’t one of my top five Final Fantasy games, but I still recommend it

Started my very first playthrough of Bloodborne this week. My first impression so far is that Miyazaki’s mind must be a very dark place

Happy Mario Day

Haven’t posted any of my drawings in like a month. So here’s a couple I did of Zoro from One Piece and All Might from My Hero Academia

Finally got around to watching Nosferatu last night. It was really good, but my only complaint was Orlock’s design. Looked too much like a zombie version of Arthur from Peaky Blinders

Going to the Verizon store always takes about 3 hours because I end up having to wait while the employees are tied up trying to help some old ass people who don’t even know how to use their phones

Reposting this today as it’s been one year since we lost Toriyama
Real quick Formula 1 fun fact: F1 legend Ayrton Senna was a Dragon Ball fan and actually met with Akira Toriyama to make some Dragon Ball-themed promotional images for McLaren

Trump had one clear goal today, which was to flaunt his power by having Zelenskyy grovel before him while the whole world watched. I give Zelenskyy all the credit in the world for not only denying him that satisfaction, but also bruising his pride on live television

I couldn’t help but notice how the Yakuza series had a variety of active combat for several years, but then they changed it to turn based, and I never hear anyone complain about it. But Final Fantasy fans have been divided about the series changing its combat style since it happened 24 years ago

Speaking from experience, I probably would’ve killed myself if I hadn’t been on antidepressants back in high school. This is going to lead to a lot more teenage suicides, which there’s already too much of
President Donald Trump has instructed his administration to scrutinize the “threat” to children posed by antidepressants, stimulants and other common psychiatric drugs, targeting medication taken by millions in his latest challenge to long-standing medical practices.
Trump casts psychiatric and weight-loss drugs as threats to children
Trump directed a panel headed by HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to assess “the prevalence of and threat” posed by SSRIs, mood stabilizers, stimulants, and weight-loss drugs.

Well, since my feed is full of posts of FF8 today, I guess now is a good time to make my first “hot take” post on Bluesky:

FF8 is a bottom tier Final Fantasy game.

I said what I said.

Please don’t be one of those party poopers who posts some self-righteous reason as to why you’re not watching the Super Bowl. Nobody asked, and it makes you look like one of those people who post “happy single awareness day” on Valentines Day. It’s just weird behavior, and yet, I see it every year

I feel like what we’re seeing right now is what happens when a football team gets away with sloppy football all season.
