Oof. Sounds like a hardware issue then. Have you tried taking it in to get it looked at? Might be cheaper than a new phone.

You could try to do a Factory Reset. It could fix this issue.

On Android
Settings > System > Reset Options > Erase All Data

On iPhone
Settings > General > Transfer and Reset iPhone > Reset > Erase all content and settings

Make sure you back all of your data up before you do so.
