I think we’re talking past each other. I agree with you it’s statistically unlikely, to be clear. What I mean is I think it was purely done as a writing shortcut to save time not having to address it. Ironically, I think Wyll’s story would’ve been enhanced by his father remarrying in his absence.

The writing would have to account for it, then. If Wyll had siblings, he could have somebody other than his distant father to turn to, same as Gale. If Karlach had siblings, Gortash disappearing her would raise alarms. Isolating them alone forces the player to be the one helping them is what I mean.

It's a writing choice to emphasize why they were easier to manipulate/victimize. Lae'zel and Astarion are actually good examples: Vlaakith and Cazador both minimize rebellion by disrupting any potential for external bond formation. They're turned against each other instead of towards the abuser.

Bloodweave being one of the most popular ships is so funny to me. I think Astarion's animosity toward him is only exceeded by Minthara's. I bet they could make them cry if they teamed up.

If we are talking about the same person, it’s because they come up a lot in the algorithm because they posted some of the first full Astarion romances online, so lots of hits. I only suspect it because I’ve seen similar sexist arguments from their little clique.

I think the vagina dentata is a nice design touch given the weird birth/death motifs around Bhaal. Whether the writers intended or not, there’s some fun irony in the god who wants the death of all life being unable to escape creating life in the pursuit of it.
