Queer nerdy Brightonaut into cooking, RPGs, gamedev, and being a better human being
And how the plot of the second trilogy, written by an established underdog finding his place as a small fish in a big pond, is a story about a society of established underdogs finding their place as the small fish in a big pond, and of what they will and won't compromise to survive.

I'm also appreciating how the plot of the original trilogy, written by a insanely ambitious shareware developer throwing himself into an uncharted void of a marketplace, was the story of a bunch of insanely ambitious outcasts with big dreams thrown into an uncharted void.

I'm playing Avernum 4 now, as someone who first encountered the Exile games on a PC Format demo CD, and it's filling me with so much nostalgia and love for those caves.

for the avoidance of any doubt: he said this in response to a school shooting. Political murder is a tragedy regardless of who it targets; however, nobody who says something like that gets to exit this world with the slightest shred of dignity.

I'm in Pav so can't directly vote for you but would throw time and effort into turning Kemptown green, but only if you can prove your track record on trans rights - I've no interest in donating to a transphobe or someone who tolerates transphobia in their party.

I am a single issue voter, and my single issue is LGBTQ rights. The Greens are the only party who I can feel proud to vote for. While you continue to support LGBTQ rights, you will have my vote, and you will also have things like this:

You're pathetic weak cowards and I will not be purchasing games from you in the future.

Any interesting numbers you might encounter from time to time are therefore probabilistically impossible and most likely the result of a computational error.

Given that any interesting number must be describable using mathematical language, and there are only a countably infinite number of mathematical statements, it is certainly true that interesting numbers form a null set among boring ones.

Once the lentils are done, preheat your oven to 200C and pour them all into a pyrex tray, adding more water if they've dried up. Layer the potato slices on top, allowing them to overlap like a fish's scales.

Place the tray in the oven for 40 minutes and serve!

While they simmer, peel and thinly slice your potatoes - they want to be about as thick as a 2p piece. If you have one, use a mandolin. Place the slices in a big bowl, pour on some cooking oil, salt, pepper and rosemary, and mix them with your hands to make sure they're all coated.

Simmer lidded for 30m, adding more water if things dry out. By the end the lentils should be swollen up but still have texture.

Add the lentils, garlic, tomato paste and a stock cube, plus salt, pepper and thyme and enough boiling water to cover the mixture.
