Thanks Steve. I was of the understanding that the National's selling point is that it is Scotland's only openly pro-independence paper - and its Sunday version likewise, only a more indepth analysis of the week's news? Best wishes. ✌️🤓🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Oops, sorry- I misread - it was your Mother who visited! Well, hopefully you'll be able to follow in her footsteps one day and come over. 😊

Hopefully you'll follow in your Grandmother's brother's footsteps someday! 🥰

And, in case of additional interest re modern Scotland generally - you might be intrigued to know that there is a daily pro-Scottish independence newspaper (and more indepth Sunday version) which would have been Wallace's choice I reckon... 😜 thenational.scot 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Aha! Hello friend! I'm in Argyll in Scotland. *Waving over the big pond!* Wallace's home? Like his house? I'm not sure there is any definitive trace of that - however, this fort was recently found which has a confusing name! Very interesting all the same! forestryandland.gov.scot/blog/wallace...

Paisley has a lot of heritage / info relating to Wallace for sure (www.paisleyheritage.org.uk/post/paisley...) (also of interest: www.facebook.com/Renfrewshire...)
and the Memorial in Elderslie (which is very close to Paisley) still stands: paisley.is/visit/wallac....

Aww wow! You'd love the Wallace Monument in Stirling: www.nationalwallacemonument.com And there is a lot of interesting heritage around Renfrewshire as u know. Paisley Museum is currently undergoing a major refurbishment and will have a Wallace exhibit: reimagined.paisleymuseum.org/about-paisle....

Hey @gealfaol.bsky.social - I just so happened to see this post & wanted to say that my Grandparents lived in Elderslie & I have a pamphlet marking the opening of the Wallace memorial there which my Grandfather attended many decades ago. It's not too far from here; under an hour's drive. ✌🏻🤓🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿✨️☮️
