this is an excerpt from my armand/eglee wip—which was supposed to be done for day 7 (dollification) of dead dove kinktober 💀

Will that be a problem?" If so, it would be far more merciful to end her now than to allow her inadequacy to offset the coven. She blinks and tilts her head, inside of which I am witness to projections of lives she has already stolen, or thus been the cause of its loss: the gang member coaxed to turn on his dangerous leader, the rivals in bartered desire dispatched from her territory, the soldier who sought her for his child-bride, poisoned by his own ale. Ah, she's a killer already, if not for sustenance than by circumstance, and sometimes just for fun. What a prize you've brought us, Gustave.

tw rape and csa -Isabelle had never known the circumstances of her conception, her initial wariness towards her father stemming from having been used and abused by men for the past few years. but eventually his kindness and patience were rewarded, and he was able to take her home. -after he raped Nanette, she stabbed him in the genitals, causing permanent damage-and leaving him little use to his father as an heir. the sixteen year old Firmin was married off to a widow, Maylis, who was nearly twice his age, and had two children only slightly younger than him. tw incest -when Isabelle joined the household, his stepchildren had left home, but his mother had moved in. the older women were united in their cruel judgment of the illegitimate Isabelle and her recent lifestyle; Firmin too was preoccupied with his daughter's unfortunate history, pushing her to recite every sordid detail whenever he requested to hear them. -grateful to have a home but deeply uncomfortable, Isabelle suffered through a few years in her father's household before salvation arrived in the unlikely form of Maylis's leering son Donat, still unmarried. Firmin was quite close to his stepson, and when Donat requested Isabelle's hand in marriage, he gladly accepted on her behalf, for she was still a few months away from reaching the age of majority, which meant he still had control over her life and the ability to hand over the reigns to someone of his own choosing. tw attempted rape -her father refused to listen to the objections of his daughter, his wife, and his mother, and the wedding was set for the day before her birthday. to ensure she did not run away, Firmin insisted Isabelle be kept under lock and key; a week before the wedding, that lock was picked by the impatient groom. -Donat saw no reason to wait to claim his spousal rights since it was well known he would not be the first. sensing that he was driven more by lust than brains, Isabelle fully agreed with him, and convinced him of the waste of marrying her when having her as a mistress would be cheaper and involve less responsibility. -by the time Firmin discovered their love nest in Pigalle, Isabelle was twenty one and a registered prostitute.

tw rape and csa -Nini was released shortly after and the two were reunited. -they both participated in the Paris Commune-Isabelle following Nini's lead, clinging to the woman's side and fearing separation. -during Bloody Week, they were caught in an ambush by Versailles soldiers. Nini was executed right in front of her, while the younger Isabelle was taken back to their camp. -one soldier, the man who had murdered her friend, promised her "leniency" (compared to those being slaughtered in the streets) in exchange for her virginity. with no other choice, Isabelle agreed and remained under the man's "protection" through the end of the Commune and the resulting public trials (which he forced her to witness-especially the executions). tw csa -the man wanted to marry her, but they would need the consent of the father she had never met. a letter requesting his consent was dispatched, and while waiting for a response, Isabelle drugged him and escaped (she wasn't trying to kill him but she was generous with the amount poured into his drink). -finding her rough way back to Paris, Isabelle returned to her grandfather's apartment but found it emptied and deserted, her grandmother having departed in fear of the Commune. -still harboring a dream of being a dancer, she went to the Opera and managed to obtain a place in the corps. unfortunately, the reality of supporting herself on meager wages was harsher than expected; fortunately, several of her grandfather's friends were happy to assist-for a price. tw csa and suicidal thoughts -after two years of being the plaything of rich men with little to show for it, Isabelle took out her frustration and despair by settling the Opera House on fire. she intended to die in the blaze but her unconscious body was discovered and carried out; she managed to evade suspicion for the arson. -and then she was found by her father, Firmin. he had received the letter and had promptly gone to the village to find her, instead finding her fiancé dead and she having disappeared. he managed to track her down by way of Parisian gossip. his welcome was not as warm as he expected.

tw: rape -born in prison, the product of rape between a rich man's son and his father's young mistress. her mother, Nanette Eglee, stabbed him after the rape which led to her imprisonment. they were released when she is three and lived on the streets. -the rich man, M. de Sansonnet, learned of his granddaughter's existence and paid her mother a small fortune in exchange for sole custody of Isabelle; her only connection to her daughter that remained was her surname. -Isabelle adored her doting grandfather, avoided her seething grandmother, and never met her father (he was sent away as punishment for *touching his father's possession* the rape, hence her grandmother's resentment). tw csa and incest -the only thing in the world she loved more than her grandfather was dancing. ever since she could walk, she could dance. her grandfather gladly paid for her lessons and encouraged her to give private performances for him and his friends. -when she was thirteen, she was in the same dance class where Giuseppina Bozzachi was discovered for the lead role in Coppelia for the Paris Opera. her talent was also noticed and she was offered a place in the company. -unfortunately, her grandfather wanted her all to himself. he was very well acquainted with the "promiscuity" of the dancers (her mother, his former mistress, having been one herself) and flew into a jealous rage at the thought of his granddaughter in the arms of his (similarly aged) friends. -when Isabelle, for the first time ever, dared to plead for her own desires in direct contrast with his own, he responded by sending her back to Saint-Lazare for "correction". during the months she was kept there Coppelia premiered, her grandfather died, and Paris fell under siege. -while in prison, she met a woman, a prostitute, who went by the name Nini. despite Isabelle's initial prejudice towards her, Nini looked out for her, and the two became very close. -when she was finally released, Isabelle went straight to her grandfather's apartment, where she found only her grandmother who coldly informed her of his death. she was further heartbroken when her grandmother threw her out on the street with little money to her name.
