If you were raised on 80s sitcoms, this is like some freakish junk-culture Rosetta Stone. There was, for example, a Ferris Bueller TV adaptation, and it starred Jennifer Aniston

I'm surely not over the Jays' loss, but I agree with this pair of sentiments. Particularly how a baseball season like this one with such a bitter end can grow sweeter with time. Like how many viewers of Good Will Hunting realize Matt Damon and Robin Williams are recapping a series the Red Sox lost?

For 10 years my fantasy baseball Slack channel avatar has been the Pirates hat guy who pops up in the crowd in that epic 7th inning of Game 5 of the 2015 ALDS and I respect this effort

Thanks for the suggestion, New York Times, but I found a knitting needle and I've been stabbing myself in the ear repeatedly with it instead

Last time I attended a playoff baseball game in person, Rickey Henderson put on the greatest performance I’ve ever seen in person by an athlete, still. (Ask your parents, kids!) Hoping for similar heroics — but from the home side this time!

I mean the socials are awash in slop now but this AI genius seems unaware that the peak moment in the past 10 years of Jays history was breaking the Rangers’ souls with a monster home run and the peak moment in Rangers history the past 10 years was one of their guys punching the guy who hit the HR

This is the at-a-glance explanation for what @ember-energy.org means by the phrase "electrotech revolution." There is voluminous data (truly voluminous!) to back up their argument in the slidedeck

One perspective on solar boom: in 2022 (just 3 years ago!) the IEA's "main case" forecasted ALL renewables to add 460GW of new power in 2027. Instead, SOLAR ALONE did more than 80% of that in the first 6 months of 2025. Trust no energy analysis that doesn't use this as its starting point

New report from @ember-energy.org finds the world installed 380GW of new solar power in the first six months of this year, which is up 64 percent from the same period last year. Which was of course a record-breaking pace, because that's all solar does now is break records and blow past forecasts
