Was able to try out the 8bitdo 64 Controller for a bit last night on the Switch 2 - was very surprised that it read the controller as an official N64 one. It definitely was way better playing the few games I tested with it over using the Pro Controller.

Just found out that Konami is releasing a Goemon collection (by M2) in Japan this July of all the Famicom, SFC, and Game Boy games. Definitely wish this would be translated and released over here. One of my all time favorite games is Mystical Ninja 64 (not included in this though).

Was excited to see this on the Partner Direct today. Both NES Bomberman II and Super Bomberman 2 are a couple of my favorite Bomberman games. I want the physical copy, but is the physical copy just a Switch 1 edition? What is the difference between the two? Hmm.

As someone who has played most of the Metroid games (OG NES, GB 2, Super, Fusion, the whole Prime trilogy, Dread), I think I’m done with this one. I’m not enjoying myself at all, sadly. (Yes, I may have raged quit after dying to a certain boss 4 times in a row)

Been awhile since I posted on the old retro game collection. My wife picked up a few games for my collection over the holidays that I surprisingly never owned, but played a lot with friends who did own them.

Finally got around to building the LEGO Game Boy set from last October. It’s definitely one of the better sets to come out in a long time. Would love if they made expansions for it, for example: a Pokémon cart included with one of the LEGO Pokémon sets.

Also, just before Christmas, I received my Mega Man Hand-Drawn Game Guide from kickstarter in the mail. @heyphilsummers.bsky.social hit this one out of the park! Super high quality and vibrant! Love it.

Been a bit, work and vacations have kept me busy. Anyway, back on Black Friday, a distracted driver hit my vehicle with my wife and myself in it. Thankfully no one was hurt, but had to have my back passenger door and tire replaced and body work done. Not a fun time.

I finally about 100% completed Donkey Kong Bananza over the weekend. Not to spoil anything, I completed the post-game challenges and was left a small bit disappointed - the game is amazing, one of the best plot twists in a while (iykyk), but I wanted more of an ending after those challenges.

Last Wednesday, I finally received an email from Nintendo, granting me a chance to purchase the Switch 2 directly from Nintendo themselves. It hasn’t been in stock in any of the stores around, so I decided to order online from Nintendo. (Today I got an email saying it will arrive Thursday)

Also, went over to Magic Kingdom last Saturday to also say goodbye to the Rivers of America (Liberty Belle Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island go away next month) - fun fact, in all my years of going to WDW, I had never ever stepped foot on Tom Sawyer Island. I liked the Fort… that is all.

I literally just realized that my childhood copy of SMB3 was a first production “Left Bros” cartridge - my father must’ve really wanted to play it and got it right away when it was released. (It became one of his favorite games ever)
