Not sure if I posted this one before. My Dad’s compositors equipment. Helpfully he labelled a lot of it up. My Dad worked for the same firm for 52 years.

Tonight I fired up a 60s Halina Viewer from my wife’s side and used it for a box of Dad’s slides. Old skool magic.

Out of one of Dad’s books. He never mentioned any WW1 family history from his side. Feels original not repro. @sommecourt.bsky.social

Quite a few IWM entries for that battle hey? One of the films has an M10. Apparently shot day before.

Inside a copy of “The British Printer” is a leaflet extolling the virtues of a factory music system!

My stupid idea to build a Commando Comic wall piece just based on editions featuring the Beaufighter has, predictably, resulted in me trying to find them all. So far I’ve identified 21 comics.

Oddly absolutely none of them show a Banff or North Coates Strike Wing aircraft with the stripes.

Arnhem image in the IWM I’d not seen before.

One for @robertglennie.bsky.social - I enjoyed listening to parents teaching their kids absolute nonsense today. Apparently WW2 was the first time troops encountered tanks. “Imagine seeing that for the first time”. So close..

One of the more distinctive pillboxes out near Thorney. Sits on the Cat’s Water ditch, looking down Bukehorn Road. #WW2

I’ve been buying Commando comics with Beaufighters. I was happy I’d found nine. Nice number for framing.
Damn it I think this is ten…

I missed out on Stormtroopers so I’ve been buying those…with no hint of irony.

@hushkit.bsky.social I sold my original of this in the late 90s for 50p at a car boot. Got a good one back for a tenner! 👌 Classic M&S seemingly designed just to fit the F-104. Soon I’ll be replicating the pain of getting it on a shelf. 🤣
