I need to get my eyes or my fingers or my brain or all three checked. Spent a good half hour looking for that last word, and out of frustration tried a word already rejected but this time accepted. Did I simply fat-finger it the first time, or am I wrong in thinking I tried it?

This is taking way too much time to grind through, and I admit that some of the words stated as rough guesses that luckily pointed me to the real word.

The longer words tend to just pop into my head, but I spent close to an hour trying to see what turned out to be a small (6 letters) compound word.

Spelling Bee is turning out to be weirder with words than Wordle. Today it accepted the name of a city, whereas a few days ago it didn't. Not the same city, but after the other day I assumed (yes, I know) that proper nouns weren't in play, but apparently they sometimes are.

If it weren't for these trifles to keep me busy I'd probably just be running wild in the streets knocking hats off toffs, or plotting to get a government grant (hard to come by these days) and take over the world.

What can I say? I got bored watching Chiefs vs. Giants, so I took another look and sort of accidentally finished it. Words that had totally eluded me this afternoon were just popping in to my head.
