In WA, we are currently dealing with the massive clean-up of a facility that has produced large amounts of waste, which has deeply affected Indigenous communities here. The Hanford facility has been defunct since the ‘70s, and we are still dealing with the waste.

I completely agree on this being an issue with most energy sources including sustainable ones.

My reluctancy isn’t with the energy source itself but large companies using it as energy source is something I personally question as profit have always been their bottom line and not much else.

Nuclear energy is sustainable when done appropriately. I feel as though rushing towards it as a solution without most of the American public don’t fully understanding the implications of when it isn’t properly handled could come off as way to trying to look good without actually caring.
