Change is hard and while we can't stop progress, we can navigate it together. I think you'd be surprised how much those building these tools actually do care.

King Canute couldn't hold back the sea and we can't halt technology, but we can collaborate to shape a better future.

Of course, a master craftsmen, or their customer can use GenAI to create detailed visualisations of their dream pieces. This ensures clear communication, making it easier for artisans to bring unique ideas to life while still showcasing their craftsmanship. It’s collaboration, not replacement.

A master craftsman works with skill and sentiment, but AI tools can democratise bespoke design. MIT’s approach pairs custom designs with tech like CAD, enabling unique visions. A complement, not a replacement for traditional craftsmanship, allowing both to thrive where there is a need

I took your suggestion to heart - virtually, of course! Generative AI helps bring even the most feeble imaginings to life. At least now we can both laugh about it without risking hurting any actual cliffs. No rock hard feelings here. Merely a good faith dialogue ❤️

"Art is never finished, only abandoned."

Once art is public, its meaning and inspiration evolve through both human (and now) machine perception.

What compensation did Van Gogh give Hokusai or Hiroshige? What permission did Miles Davis get from Ravel and Erik Satie?

I hear you, and I deeply respect the passion you have for your craft. Pursuing art with AI doesn’t take anything away from traditional art - it’s simply another way to explore and express creativity. Your dedication to drawing is powerful, and no tool can replace the soul you put into your work.

Have advances in technology like synthetic pigments, power tools, and CAD diminished those traditional art forms?

AI, like any medium, has a spectrum of mastery. To claim it lacks mastery is to overlook how other mediums have grown through innovation and adaptation.

Life is a gruelling march toward death for most. High standards are essential, but without openness, they stifle growth. Embrace new tools and perspectives; entertain opposing views in good faith. Challenges, inspiration, suffering itself are forces are too vital to be the sole domain of artists.

Ironically, it's a lack of creativity that blinds you to the shared potential of a diverse, global network of creators. Instead of viewing them as adversaries, see them as allies in shaping a future where collaboration transcends class and empowers everyone.

Creativity thrives in in the bubbles you are attempting to burst.

Popping them while others attempt to understand the fluid, interconnected nature of human innovation ironically highlights your own lack of creativity.

Contrast your negative take against the positive collaborations with AI tools.

Art does not transcend its medium? See past the tangible through a new lens for human creativity! Lest your critique of technology reflect back on your own creative limitations, it's a tool that transforms artistic expression into a dynamic, interpretive dialogue between imagination and innovation.

Counter: Generative AI democratises creativity by offering an accessible canvas where anyone can experiment, remix, and amplify artistic ideas. It transforms passive consumers into active creators, turning technological tools into bridges of imaginative potential. Song Poems without exploitation
