While working on the next Last Elixir video I discovered that Dyne has a bunch of cut behavior in his OG boss fight. He has an unused animation for throwing something (no associated unused attack), the ability to cast fire, and an unused action for yelling at Barret mid-fight (no associated text).

Was looking at battle models and realized most battle models with face textures have their faces placed like 7 pixels higher than they should be, leading to them looking more scrunched than they should and losing some detail.

I've done this before, but I lost the old file, so here is the events of #FFVII Remake and Rebirth broken down by day. We know FFVII starts before midnight, and that the starting date is December 9th, so the rest of this is extrapolated by counting the day/night transitions lol.

I need to reiterate that, despite looking the same and fulfilling more or less the same narrative function, Solemn Gus is not internally considered the same character as Coates from OG FFVII. This is evidenced by how he doesn't have an OG playback where other Corel Prison characters like Esther do.

As it turns out, the group referred to in Ever Crisis is not 五強聖 (Five Mighty Saints), but instead a new entity known as 五賢 (Five Wise ones). This may or may not functionally be the same group as the pagoda fuckers, but the JP name is different, so we're back in limbo on which one to use in SAC lol.

Dirge of Cerberus, in an extremely niche textbox, translated their name as "Wusheng." I love my deep cuts so I wanted to use this, however Crisis Core had a set of missions where you go up against a group called 五聖 (same as OG group sans "mighty"), translated as "the five saints."

Unused in FF7 were 4 alternate versions of the standard shop text that use various Japanese regional dialects. Using these was one of SAC's white whale for a while, but technical advancements finally allowed for it. Then it turned out only one shopkeeper in the entire game has a matching accent lol.

Speaking of, I don't remember if I ever posted about this here, but one of my only pixel art contributions to anything ever is some title art assets and rooms for a Deltarune fan game that's a political thriller satire staring Asgore lol.
