Here in southern Ontario, I can't claim to have the birds eating from my hand, but the normally skittish American Goldfinch will get within a foot or two of a human if there's a ready supply of Lanceleaf Coreopsis seeds to be had. Our garden is bursting with said seeds in autumn, and Goldfinches.

A couple of years ago we turned over about 80% of our grassed yards to Ontario native plants and trees. We live in the suburbs where lawns are king, which is why we left a little bit grass, to appease the neighbours. We are overrun with insects, butterflies especially, and birds now. It's fab!

Nice! The first PC I ever used was an Olivetti M24. Two 5.25" floppy drives but no hard disk. We only used it as a tool to download payment data to the floppy disk from a PICK multi-user system. It worked quite well as dumb terminal to the main system.
