trying to enjoy life w/ my husband & son & figure out being in the now & not yet, hopeful cynic (recovering?), briefly in music journalism in a past life, ended up in np comms & assn mgmt, from OH to KC | posts: family, art/music, work, issues I care about
Also, DNA is a whole thing & a lot of people don't realize that. It's not bad to take your time. Lots of people aren't prepared for unexpected results or don't understand how it works & what data shows. I sat in on a full day workshop learning about it & still haven't done tests. It's fascinating.

Love it! If I can ever help point you to info, people, or something, I'm happy to try to help. If you don't know, the Allen County library in Ft. Wayne is one of the biggest genealogy libraries in the country. I had no idea until I started this job. So, if you are up that way sometime go see them.

I work with societies, libraries, archives & other organizations. I'm not a genealogist, though I have an interest in family history, but am in nonprofit/association management. We're a small staff so I help with marketing, events, etc. (but not our education - experts teach).

As someone who works with the genealogy community and isn't regularly going to church, I appreciate this post.

I have 2 work trips coming up, 1 soon & 1 in a few months. The 1st is not really driving distance & I'm hoping all goes well. The 2nd I need to buy tickets for soon & it's an 8-9 hour drive & I'm now weighing all my options & watching how things go.

Right?! Every time I think this can't get more weird, bizarre, and troubling it somehow manages to far exceed the possibilities. WTF

As someone who grew up in Ohio (Dayton area), I have to say the music thing is legit. I had more cool music available than I should have. Some genres were lacking, but I had access to some awesome bands and didn't realize at the time how great it was.
