Canadian mom of 2, stepmom of 4. Socially awkward, non-expert parent…very bossy. Likes plants more than people.
I’m grateful to be Canadian…but I find myself incredibly disillusioned with this country and its history. At this point, I’m not proud of Canada so much as hopeful for what we could be if we choose our leaders choose a better path. The hatred and division are scary.

It’s amazing what’s possible because Canada’s PM is cognitively intact, can handle a robust schedule, doesn’t need a 2 hour post-Big Mac nap after lunch, and doesn’t need to be steered out of the public eye by 3pm before he sundowns.

Congratulations! You will do an excellent job as always!

It’s a Golden Nope from Canada.

I don’t think you’re interpreting wrong. The vibes are definitely off with that guy. If the NDP wants to rebuild, they should probably tread carefully and make better choices.

I respectfully disagree. I believe these issues require federal support and attention. The social determinants of health are too big to be tackled by individual provinces alone and won’t improve without federal-level work.

We can’t address the economy, poverty, health care, unity, or growth, etc. without addressing mental health and addiction. It’s so intertwined and it doesn’t make sense! Canada can be strong without AI. It can’t be strong without a healthy population. Concerning priorities. ☹️
May 13, 2025 at 6:35 PM
I would have hoped for that to be prioritized over a Minister of AI. 😡

It baffles me that a PM who is so pro-environment and concerned about climate change would go all-in on AI. The energy and water usage required for AI is astounding.
May 13, 2025 at 4:00 PM
I’m not thrilled about some of these…I would have preferred to see Chrystia Freeland left out entirely and I don’t want us to have a Minister of AI. But it’s unusual to see an MP from Vancouver Island in any kind of cabinet position, so I’m happy to see my MP as a Secretary of State.

Oh man, PP’s body language and facial expression are quite something….
May 11, 2025 at 2:48 AM
I hope enough of us have the courage, strength, and critical thinking skills to do so. The disinformation machine is working overtime right now and it’s almost as scary as the fascism itself. ☹️

I’m not annoyed about this. Their inability to read the room and their insistence on choosing unlikable leaders has been their undoing in the last few elections. It’s good for the rest of us that you can’t teach Con dogs new tricks and that they don’t learn from their mistakes. Carry on, I say.

Carney politely stood up to him, demonstrating quiet Canadian strength, even after he was blasted on social media pre-meeting. POTUS admitted Canada can’t do anything to get rid of tariffs, for no good reason. That admission will be important, I suspect. Not a waste of time. A necessary evil…once.

I think the Cons are too vicious for that. He’s so unpopular they started putting Emperor Palpatine/Harper in ads instead of PP…I don’t think they’ll rally to save him. The Tory leopards will eat him for lunch and hunt their next unlikeable party face.

He runs the country and the world…into the ground, perhaps.
