People said this should be my new author photo...they might be right. At least until I get new pics taken.

It’s me: early morning light, coffee, and ghosts waiting to be written.

I’m deep into Women of the Paranormal Volume II right now. Trying honoring the ones history tried to forget.

Yesterday was game day for NOVA Roller Derby. I was on team Bees 🐝 and ended up getting MVP Blocker. It was a good day!

Hi. I’m autistic. I’m married. Work a full-time job, I pay taxes, & I haven’t destroyed my family.

If you believe even a fraction of what RFK is saying about people with autism, then you’re aligning yourself with views that dehumanize people like me.

I don’t have space for that kind of ignorance.

Posted this on other socials about 5 days ago...forgot to post it here.

Some days, the only comfort I can find is knowing there's a way out waiting for me.

It’s not that I want to take it anytime soon or hope it comes for me sooner than later. /1

Someone wants to go on an adventure with me.

It's here! I'm thrilled to be part of Volume VII of The Feminine Macabre! I've been researching Japanese ghost stories and folklore for over a decade, and it's been such a ride. I'm looking forward to publishing more of my research across different publications.

Found out two of my books are on LibGen. Great. Super.

Bad news: Took a spill at practice yesterday and nursing a mild concussion.

Good news: The newest volume of The Feminine Macabre is out! My article "From Oppression to Vengeance: The Role of Women in Japanese Ghost Stories" is included in this volume.

While the paranormal may seem male-dominated, women have always been here.

Names like Hans Holzer are remembered, but women’s contributions are often forgotten. That’s why I wrote Women of the Paranormal Volume I to ensure their legacies live on.

That gabapentin feeling...we've been snuggling on the bed all day since we got home. Thank you all for your well wishes for Zoe!

Coming up with new shirt and mugs designs to help support Zoe's ER bills. Last month, my husband was in the ER multiple times because of his blood pressure issues plus several follow ups. I needed this month to be calm so I could replenish our emergency fund. It is what it is. /1

My poor girl 😭

She's unable to go #1 and instead passing bl00d and clots so they're doing an ultrasound.

Please keep my Zoe in your thoughts. Something really scary is happening so we're at the ER.

louder. Rising xenophobia, the targeting of specific communities, and policies that seek to strip people of their rights in the name of "security." The same fear-mongering and prejudice that fueled 9066 are resurfacing, and if we don’t recognize the patterns, history will repeat itself. /3

who later served in the Army during WWII and Korea, lived in a time when his own government viewed him and his family as a threat simply because of their ancestry. This anniversary always weighs heavy on my heart, but this year it feels especially foreboding. The echoes of history are growing /2

Today marks the anniversary of Executive Order 9066, the directive that led to the forced removal and incarceration of over 120,000 Japanese Americans. Many of them were U.S. citizens. My own family was deeply impacted by this dark chapter in American history. My grandfather, a Japanese American /1

Hmmm…I wonder if RFK Jr. plans to repurpose the old Japanese American concentration camps for his proposed “healing” camps. If so, calling dibs on my family's old bunker at Minidoka.

Between being autistic, having ADHD, and on SSRIs…may as well head back to where my family was "generously" housed.

I don’t want to "find myself." I want to wander a fog-covered cemetery with a lantern, whispering, "What secrets do you hold?" to unmarked graves.

Thank you to those who have been kind and understanding when I've had to decline your event invites.

Happy Valentine's Day, spooky friends!

It's that time of year again! My annual Valentine's tradition: Posting this classic Ghostbusters II moment. Because honestly...same, Venkman. Same.

I finally got around to watching the Super Bowl halftime show, and I have to say it was brilliant, in my opinion. Bravo Kendrick Lamar. As a musical theatre person, rap and hip-hop are near the bottom of my personal music preferences, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the artistry behind /1
