Take light pollution for example. You can try finding darker skies but this may be impractical or prohibitive. Learning to process better is a must, but so too is acquiring better quality data. That can mean purchases like a cooled camera, narrowband filters + mono camera, paid software tools...

I've been doing astrophotography for about four years now and the most important lessons are:

1. Like other hobbies, skill is more important than equipment
2. For some problem holes the most reasonable solution is buy your way out

The USB connection gave up at one point and dropped some frames, and there's definitely a light leak issue somewhere I'll need to track down.
