I never planned to use MacOS as my primary system. As a teenager, I experimented with emulating Mac OS X on my Windows 7 machine. The initial experience was enjoyable and novel. Even after years of using it as my main operating system, I still find that charm unchanged and enhanced.

I agree, and much like the examples you presented, the outcome hinges on the direction writing takes. It would be intriguing to witness more instances of anime that disregard this principle yet manage to succeed, like your examples of exceptions.
