probably because it's comparing a car that uses a recycled battery which afaik doesn't currently exist and I'm guessing there's at least one manufacturer who has planned to release one in 2030

There's also a company called Amber who hook end users straight into the wholesale market and you can use a house battery to play the market usually by filling the battery during the day and exporting during dinner then coasting overnight and exporting during the morning kettle rush.

in Australia our feed in tarrifs are down to 4c (while our 6pm consumption can be as high as 50c). There's deals around where you can still get a 12c feed in if you buy your panels from the retailer. Either way it's still worth it to get them and load shift hot water and aircon to the daytime hours.

Apartment dwellers already pay higher council rates than home owners (relative to the infrastructure they need) so with that they should get access to an account that gives them a reduced rate on the slow curbside chargers in their local area.

How can you have this take when onprem is a tenth of the cost in this case? Taking advantage of the economies of scale needs to actually result in an advantage.
