Couple of years ago, when I had a long early commutes, I'd open my notes app and leave on voice to text and brainstorm lesson plans, essays, poems etc. It was pretty good about long periods of silence.

Made the drive seem like a productive part of my working day, rather than just a limbo.

No access but, according to a book review, MacKaye’s 1962 “The New Exploration” has a reprint of it. The 1962 appears to be available as a ebook.
