36 year retired Fed here. Accounting degree and CPA. No way would I consider a career in Government today. It used to be a secure job with good work-life balance & opportunities for advancement, although you would never get the real big bucks. But the trade off was worth it. No longer.

And now IRS woke up and realized that too many people left and the 2026 filing season is in serious trouble. They're asking people to come back. For what? To be laid off/ fired again after the filing season is over?

I'm betting that in the end, this becomes a nightmare for Pulte who will be forced out owing tons in judgments from Cook's successful lawsuits. As for Trump, he'll say, " who's this guy Pulte? Never heard of him."

But the next report will be all rosy with 500,000 jobs gained. Plus revisions on the revisions that show every month since March gaining 200,000 plus jobs!
