The idea of “horizontal hierarchies” is appealing but if I have to share them with people who prefer to belittle rather than educate, then I’m happy to remain sceptical.

Every means of managing a society has some serious drawbacks. Anarchism unfortunately relies on the decency of people and a lot of time.
Maybe if we end up like the Asari…

In theory, local councils would administrate social necessities and feed into regional and national councils elected by peers.
For more specialised area, military, healthcare, education, those councils would be filled by qualified professionals.

And I reiterate in theory. While I do like the idea of an anarchist society, I am actually somewhat sceptical as to how practical it would be. Especially given the inherent selfishness of us as a species

I acknowledge the laziness in government. none of the things you mentioned are anathema to a successful society.

Admittedly “government” is a loaded term. Means of running a successful society may have been a better term. More letters though and my laziness got the better of me.

I discovered anarchism as a means of government not too long ago. That seems absolutely ideal for me. Although the more traditional form of the firebomber anarchist is also sometimes tempting…
