Right-wing politics isn't about tricking the stupid. It is about peer pressuring the cowardly. As long as they believe they will be rejected by their community for opposing trump. They will continue "supporting" him no matter how stupid it seems.

Yes. Please don't forget just how irresponsible and corrupt Johnson was. And how he undermined the rule of law in the UK.
If pardoning the Farage rioters would benefit himself, I have no doubt he (and those like him) would do it.

The defender can use article 5 to call the others to help defend them. How this would work in the real world if the USA is the invader is debatable. (most likely targeted sanctions against individuals)
