Wow, this was a great read, and definitely a much more nuanced take on the scene than most people's. I expect we'll see some A and T convos from Rebirth as flashbacks in Part 3, but from Tifa's perspective. That would go a long way towards clarifying things about Aerith's characterization.

This type of conversation is definitely happening, that's what all the Marlene-Zack conversations were about, setting up that internal conflict for the Zerith reunion. I know most fellow Zeriths see them hugging and kissing in that scene, but I see them sorting their feelings out first.
