I do agree with you there! He shouldn’t have even brought that point up. The Dems are still operating like they have to be tough on crime because they are scared of being labeled weak on it.

No I’m sorry but that is such a bad faith take on his character. I just don’t agree with you that he is that craven. Some of the other Dems sure. Schumer and Jeffries certainly. I could always be wrong about Walz but I don’t see him as craven as much as a fumble talker.

I agree with you! ICE is bad! I’m just saying that your interpretation of Walz’s statement is wrong! My argument is Walz says dumb shit and he isn’t calling for ICE to do night raids like they did on that apartment complex on the south side of Chicago. You are arguing that he did.

I may have slight blinders on as person sympathetic to well meaning people who have a way saying shit dumblike but I don’t see him even defending ICEs existence as much as pointing out how proper law enforcement operates when capturing actual criminals instead of the current tactics of terrorizing

Once again I think he was implying that they should be going after actual criminals (which we all know they are not). Thats why I’m saying this argument is bad faith. Do you really believe Walz wants them to just switch to kidnapping children at night instead? That’s genuinely ludicrous

But intentionally misreading the words of man who misspeaks all the time seems like a wasteful endeavor when Schumer is happy to tell us how he will fund ICE if they are just a smidge nicer. Just nonsense infighting versus good infighting

My argument was largely, Walz always puts his foot in his mouth. Thats what he does. I don’t think bad faith readings of Walz misspeaks are particularly helpful in any way towards pushing back on ICE. The Dem party may suck shit and Walz’s choice to bring that up in the convo was dumb.

Do you think that violent criminals don’t exist and don’t live in some sort of dwelling? I think the point he was trying to make was that targeting actual violent criminals should be down in the way actual law enforcement agencies do it and not the way it’s currently being done by thefascists in ICE

I’m pretty sure he meant raids on actual violent criminals. Afterwards he references that how the state police handle homes with illegal weapons or something like that. Not families. Classic Walz foot in mouth but I honestly think it’s bad faith reading to say that’s what he meant.
