This Georgian construction was built between 1810 and 1812. As with all dockside custom houses it was built to collect taxes on goods entering and leaving Leith Harbour. As you can see it was designed as a grand and commanding building to convey its importance.

This merchant's house is a picturesque example of 17th century harbour town architecture. A grade-A listed building that has seen several conservationist face-lifts over the years and been saved from demolition more than once.

The former St John's East Church was built in 1773 as a chapel of ease and then extensively remodelled in 1843. Use as a church ended in 1954 and conversion to offices took place in the 1990s.

Construction was approved in 1961 and completed in 1964, along with it's twin Persevere Court. The tower block was first known as Thomas Fraser Court.
After becoming rundown it was refurbished throughout in 1989. This added the cladding and the new name.
