Why is there a National Popcorn Day? I have no clue but we took it as an opportunity to indulge. That @angiesboomchickapop buttery, salty popcorn is a perfect match for our Salted Caramel Kaya (coconut jam).

My girl loves enoki mushrooms. We looked at a bunch of TT recipes for crispy enoki, then made our own version & served it with sambal aioli. They stay soft on the inside and crazy crispy on the outside and are the perfect vehicle for the aioli. #auriasmalaysiankitchen #thesamballady #sambal

Here’s a typical Malaysian lunch buffet. You’ll find lunch spots like these all over the place, but this one in particular is a buffet on steroids!
You walk around, serving yourself whatever catches your eye. It takes discipline to not arrive at the end of the buffet line with 18 lbs of food! #🥰

Laksa paste is done for our annual NYE’s laksa fest - shallots, garlic, candlenuts, dried shrimp, fresh chillies, dried chillies, fresh turmeric, lemongrass, and coriander.
How I wish I could transmit this aroma to you all via here!!! Come on H1B visa people - can we get moving on this feature? #😂

The latkes are beautifully fried, a little over an inch thick, golden, crispy outside with warm flaky layers inside. We served them with applesauce and sour cream. My contribution were two less traditional options for toppings - a fresh mango Sambal and a sambal aioli.
