My thoughts exactly and I fall precisely into that demographic, that being said I imagine that's a rather small demographic a niche within a niche

Also similar to the controller did you see they showed off a transparent VR headset as well

At least the Steamdeck had the selling point of portability and being able to access your steam library on the go

Very good questions, I imagine regardless of anything they'll keep things in house for long enough to work out the kinks and make sure there's enough supply for their core audience before anything else

Although there is a problem in the fact their core audience already has PCs

Yeah games libraries are a big factor especially digital but I mostly buy physical and I'm a bit of a horder so still have 90% of my old consoles so making the jump diesnt bother me all that much especially when taking emulation and cheap sales on old games into account

I was wandering this as well the steamdeck is still a very niche product and it will stay that way as long as you can only purchase it direct from valve

If they're looking for any kind of mainstream success they need to ship steam machines to major retailers

I imagine it should for flawless with and games with controller support at least over bluetooth

Same reason I got rid of my xbox, didn't play it enough especially once my gamepass ran out
November 13, 2025 at 12:19 AM
Yeah the price tag is the biggest question right now, I'm definitely in the same boat when it comes to couch play I'd much rather that than be at a desk
November 13, 2025 at 12:17 AM
From what I've seen it'll be somewhere between series s and base PS5 but there might be some secret sauce to give it a boost
November 13, 2025 at 12:13 AM
Already sold my Xbox and can't see myself buying another console after the PS5 so I think it's high time I get into the PC ecosystem

Free online multiplayer and cloud saves are a nice added bonus along with multiple storefronts, good sales and emulation

Same to be fair and performance on paper and actual performance are two very different things

I miss transparent tech

Very curious about the price point, I'm interested in buying one but I'll wait and see
November 12, 2025 at 10:01 PM
Exactly it's something I've spent much time pondering in the past
November 12, 2025 at 5:05 PM
Love it
November 12, 2025 at 4:53 PM
Didn't realise that, appreciate the heads up it definitely makes me more confident/hopefully in zero

It was always a guaranteed purchase regardless but now I'm intrigued by what it has to offer
