Just a socially progressive eco-socialist scientist trying to bring Green Party values to Allegheny County Council! 💚
Public transit is approaching a cliff: Pgh Regional Transit will reduce/eliminate 95 bus and T lines if PA legislature doesn't fund public transit. TODAY is the last day to call your rep!

What would it mean to sacrifice values for a little extra publicity? Ruling classes try to divide us among every axis: race, sex, gender identity/expression, national origin, etc. But workers are strong only when we STICK TOGETHER! The first article about my campaign is out! I think they did a pretty good job capturing the spirit of the campaign, alleged "negativity" and all. (I was asked a question: I answered honestly and directly. 🤷‍♂️) Honesty is something you will ALWAYS get from me!

We are having our first public event on Sunday, June 22 at 2 p.m. in Schenley Plaza (4100 Forbes Avenue) in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood! It's not a chance for me talk about myself but to HEAR FROM YOU. What issues do YOU care about, and what do YOU want from your Allegheny County Council?

You all might know me as @hotgayscientist.bsky.social ; I am a biomedical research scientist by profession. Running to represent Allegheny County isn't a stepping stone to gain power; I'm running because I care about my community! During the COVID-19 shutdowns, we were working twice as hard.

Did you see that I signed the #NoFossilFuelMoney pledge? And when I say "no fossil fuel money," I mean NO fossil fuel money!

NoCopMoneyPA, where do I sign up to pledge that, too?

Simple. Clean. Honest.

Securing funds for public transportation is a key issue for my campaign not only because it reduces traffic, makes parking more accessible, and lessens air pollution and reliance on fossil fuel, but I am vested because I rely on it myself. And I have for over twenty years!

Here is a guide to what the Green Party stands for. Some of these necessitate a nuanced approach that a simple graphic cannot provide, and I am thrilled to hear what others in Allegheny County think! One size doesn't fit all; our community collectively needs to decide what works for us.
