Currently teaching a Holocaust memoir. The silence of the majority came up in discussion last week. In short, we all want to be able to say we’d hide Anne Frank and her family in our attic, but the reality is that most wouldn’t. We wouldn’t necessarily turn them in, but most would avert their eyes.

There are ways, but sadly the founders didn’t predict that one side of the political spectrum would be bowing down to their cult leader, letting this happen.

Yes — they are mouthpieces for the regime, but that doesn’t make them stupid. Everything they say and do is intentional.
