I also tried my hand at poetry recently which is very uncomfortable for me and I feel very self-conscious about. This is a first draft that I can see now needs a LOT of work, but I should be brave and put it into the world somewhere so!!

This is my all-time fave sweet potato pie recipe!! I just cut the crust into 4-inch rounds for the mini shells. I baked them at the same temp and just checked them frequently, bake time ended up being about 40 mins! divascancook.com/southern-swe...

I think it can be really effective in magical realism and in multi-generational narratives but yeah I can’t see it working well for romance because romance relies on the the reader investing in the growth of the central relationship which is inherently chronological

Yessss 100%. As artists of course we want to play and experiment, but when putting work out into the world we need to consider if the non-linearity is creating meaning that cannot be better created in another way (and I say this as a writer who LOVES playing fast and loose with the idea of plot)

YES!! My only coping mechanism before I got diagnosed at 27 was ✨crippling anxiety✨ because if I always feel bad and afraid and ashamed then everything feels urgent which tricks my brain into actually doing it hahaha

I will shout from the rooftops how much I love public transit!!!!! I take the train to and from work and my mental health has improved SO much vs driving

One of my favorite parts of my marriage is when it’s just us we know we have permission to be as mean and bitchy as we need to in that moment lmaooo

Like this is actually enough to do after work!! If I do all of this I will feel accomplished and my life will continue to run smoothly, I don’t have to keep adding more things just because.
